About CSED

OVERVIEW:

Based on our previous successes of supporting over 200,000 women, men and children through our programs and services, CCAA is now expanding their educational reach with new and exciting educational programs created by educators, child therapists and other experts in the field of child development and child safety.

Our new programs, FedEx Generation Safe: Empowering Young Lives, have been created to reduce the incidence and impact of abuse in Canada.

Our programs have been created for children ages 4 to 12 years and for youth ages, 13 to 18; the Youth Leadership program is a mentoring/peer to peer program. Our programs will benefit children, youth and their families and the programs have been designed with age appropriate and interactive learning modules on topics such as Internet Safety; Real World Safety; Preventing Bullying; Cyber Bullying; Positive Body Image; Personal Safety; Preventing Dating Violence; Youth Leadership & Peer Mentoring.

Solid partnerships have been developed in order to deliver these programs and the programs will be delivered by trained and police-screened Volunteer Instructors at no cost to the participants. The Leadership Instructor program will begin in the Greater Toronto Area and will move across Canada throughout 2011.

The generosity of Federal Express Canada is making it possible for us to train volunteers across Canada.

We are fortunate to have the support of FedEx Canada in order to roll out our Instructor training. This is a large project and we have budgeted for $2,000.000 (over 3 years) for renovations to our existing building; final development & branding of our teaching/learning materials, training, evaluation and marketing and as we are providing “healing” programs for abuse survivors, we will be renovating our building to include a “soft room”, which is used for interviews and/or counselling for victims/survivors of abuse.
